Service Canada in Your Community! Learning

DID YOU KNOW?

  • Modest to middle income families may qualify for up to $2,000 per child for an RESP through the Canada Learning Bond?
  • You may be eligible to receive a maximum of $541.33 per month for each eligible child under the age of 6 ($456.75 per month aged 6-17) through the Tax Free Canada Child Benefit?
  • You may qualify for Canada Pension Plan and Old Age Security Benefits if you lived or worked in a country with which Canada has an International Social Security Agreement?
  • You can monitor, view and update your information for Employment Insurance (EI), Canada Pension Plan (CPP) and Old Age Security (OAS) online using the My Service Canada Account tool?

What do I need?

  • For information about your EI, CPP or OAS benefits you will need your SIN and one piece of photo ID
  • To apply for a Social Insurance Number (SIN) for yourself you will need to have your Primary Document to show your legal status in Canada. And for your child you will need both your and your child’s Primary Documents.
